Description
Uterine fibroids are the non-cancerous growths of uterus which occur during child bearing years in a female. They are also known as myomas or leiomyomas. The size of fibroids ranges from seedlings to the bulky masses. They can distort the shape of uterus and increases the size of uterus. In most of the women, the symptoms are not noticeable but in some, the symptoms appear. There has not been found any exact cause of the disease but it occurs during the reproductive years.
Some of the common signs and symptoms of uterine fibroids are:
- Excessive pain during menstruation
- Excessive bleeding
- Bleeding between periods
- Lower back pain
- Pain during sexual intercourse
- Vaginal discharge
HOW AYURVEDA HELPS?
In Ayurveda, uterine fibroids are known as Granthi or Arbuda. They occur because of the accumulation of kapha dosha which further leads to vitiation of the vata and pitta doshas. The artava vaha strotas get blocked due to accumulation of kapha and vata doshas. The ayurvedic herbs help in removing blockage from the channels and thus reduce size of the granthi.
