OVERVIEW

• TERATOZOOSPERMIA is abnormal sperm motility is a condition in men that can cause fertility
• Sperm with abnormal morphology that can cause affects fertility in males.
• Healthy sperm motility with forward progressions of at least 25 micrometers per second. If a man has poor sperm mobility, it’s called ASTHENOSPERMIA OR ASTHENOZOOSPERMIA.
• Low sperm motility may also be due to a disorder in the male accessory sex gland secretion, which leads to the glands emptying more slowly.

CAUSES OF ASTHENOZOOSPERMIA:

DIAGNOSE OF ASTHENOZOOSPERMIA:

• GENETIC SCREENING: Genetic testing to look for abnormal genes may be done if there is a low sperm count
• SEMEN ANALYSIS
• SPERM ANALYSIS
• SPERMATIC VENOGRAPHY: This test will examine the position of the veins in the scrotum
• ULTRASONOGRAPHY: this test is to find lumps and other changes in testicles and scrotum.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF AZOOSPERMIA:

• OBSTRUCTIVE AZOOSPERMIA

A blockage or missing connection in the epididymis.

• NONOBSTRUCTIVE AZOOSPERMIA

Problems in the structure or function of the testicles, have low or no sperm production.
