It is a common skin disorder which usually affects facial skin. This condition cause redness on chin, nose, cheeks and forehead and it can become more intense over period of time taking on ruddy appearance. Small blood vessels can become visible in this condition.
In some cases it can appear on ears, neck, chest or scalp. If not managed properly in time red solid bumps and pus-filled pimples tends to develop. Flare-ups usually occur in cycles and individual may experience symptoms for weeks or months where symptoms go away and then return. Proper cure for this is not there but symptoms can be managed with good treatment.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF ROSACEA ?
Main cause of rosacea is not known but combination of certain environmental and hereditary factors can contribute in development of this condition. Some things tends to worsen the symptoms of rosacea which includes :
- Consuming food items with cinnam-aldehyde like chocolate, tomatoes, citrus, cinnamon etc.
- Intake of spice foods
- Skin mite called demodex and bacterium it carries Bacillus oleronius.
- Intestinal bacteria pylori.
- Drinking hot tea or coffee
- Presence of Cathelicidin protein
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF ROSACEA ?
- Subtype One : It is also called as Erythematotelangiectatice rosacea and is associated with facial flushing, redness and visible blood vessels.
- Subtype Two : It is known as Papulopustular rosacea which has symptoms such as acne like breakouts that tends to effect middle aged women.
- Subtype Three : Also known as Rhinophyma it is a rare type where there is skin thickening on nose. It is usually accompained by other subtypes and mostly affect males.
- Subtype Four : It is known as Ocular rosacea and affects eyes causing irritation and bloodshot or watery eyes.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF ROSACEA ?

In Ayurved it is classified under Kushta Roga. Due to nidan sevan like spicy food intake, hot drinks, tridosha vitiating factors etc leads to vitiation of Tridosha i.e Vata, pitta and Kapha mainly pitta and vata. The vitiated doshas in turn contaminate Rakta( blood), mamsa(flesh), twak(skin) and ambu(body fluids ) leads to formation of the condition.
