Introduction
In ayurveda muskmelon is a body strengthening fruit in which the elements calcium, iron, vitamin A and Vitamin C are found in large quantities. It is cool, sweet, nutritious, tonic and heavy to digest. Eating ripe melons prevents constipation, softens the skin, cures urinary disease and increases male power. Melon calm Pitta and Vata dosha

Family- Cucurbitaceae
Hindi– Melon, Kharbuja, Chibut
Sanskrit- Honeycomb, Kharbuja, Dashangula

Good for eyes- Eating melon improves eyesight ans also provides relief in other eye related problems. Vitamin A beta carotene present in it improves eyesight and cataract problem
Keeping your body hydrate– Melon contain sufficient amount of water. In summer lack of water in the body, or avoid the problem of dehydration, consumption of melon is very beneficial. To avoid dehydration in the body, you must consume melon in summer.
Beneficial for digestive system– It is very beneficial for strengthening the digestive system and removing other problems related to digestion.
Immunity is boosted- Having weak immunity can make you a victim of many diseases, in such a situation, if you consume melon the vitamins present in it help in boosting immunity.

Side effects of Muskmelon
- Over consumption of muskmelons has been associate with loose stools and gas issues
- Due to high sugar content muskmelons may make you gain weight
- For diabetes, eating to many melons may be dangerous. It has the ability to produce excessive amounts of sugar, which could cause the body blood sugar levels to rise
- Some people may be allergic to melon consumption
- Melon should not be consumed on an empty stomach in the morning
- Drinking water immediately after eating melon increases the risk of cholera
