Everyone eat litchi in summer. IT is very sweet and tasty. Whether children and adults, everyone likes to eat litchi. People get relief from the heat due to its sweetness and juiciness. Litchi tree has innumerable properties from its bark, seeds, leaves to its fruit. Litchi seeds have antidote and pain relieving properties. Its leaves have insect bite-killing properties.
In Ayurveda, litchi is not known only its sweet taste but also for its many medicinal properties. Litchi is a hot in nature.

Benefits of litchi
1.Dehydration– A good amount of water present in litchi which can help in removing water deficiency in the body.
2. Immunity– Litchi rich in vitamin C, beta carotene, niacin, riboflavin and folate which can help in boost immunity.

Disadvantages of eating litchi
- Litchi have high sugar content, people suffering from diabetes should have them in moderation.
- They might cause allergic reactions in some people. So if you have some history with it, you should totally avoid consuming litchis.
- Pregnant ladies should avoid having litchis until they are in the breastfeeding stage as they can cause hemorrhage and infections and harm your baby.
- Litchi disturb the hormonal balance in the body. So consume it in moderation as it can cause internal bleeding, fever or many other troubles.
- Obesity: Litchi may contain fiber, sodium or other nutrients, if it is eaten in excess, it can worsen the health.
- Sore throat: if you consume litchi and you are having problem of sore throat, then do not consume litchi because it’s hot nature, that can cause sore throat and pain.
- Arthritis: Consuming litchi in excess can also cause arthritis. Because litchi contains high amount of sugar and calories. Excessive consumption of litchi can be harmful for arthritis patients.
- People with pitta prakarti should not consume litchi because it’s hot in nature and can causes Internal bleeding or Nose bleed
