Pitta is the heat production unit of body.It generally works on the gastro intestinal tract, liver, skin, eyes or brain. Every cell in the body needs heat for smooth functioning. Function of pitta are compared to functions of fire. It is the energy of fire and water.

It is located in stomach,intestine and dudenum.
Areas of movement in stomach and intestine.
Functions of pachak pitta are digestion of food,bifurcation of digested food into nutritive juices and excreta.
- Ranjak pitta:
It is located in liver,spleen,stomach.
Areas of movemnt in liver and stomach.
It provides color to lymph/ nutritive juices and converts into blood.
- Sadhak pitta :
It is located in heart.
It is responsible for governing the heart and mind.
- Alochaka pitta:
It is located in eye.
Areas of movement in eye.
It enables perception of vision,provide good eyesight and promotes memory.
- Bhrajaka pitta :
It is located in skin.
It gives complexion to skin.

HOME REMEDIES TO BALANCE PITTA DOSHA:
1. Amla is one of the best herb for balancing pitta dosha . It helps drain excessive pitta dosha from the digestive system.
- Guduchi is a herb that can help in to control excess pitta. It is bitter and the most suitable herbs for managing vitiation of pitta dosha.
- Cardamonum is also effective in reducing pitta.
- Drinking jeera water after lunch can help in reducing pitta dosha.
- Cow ghee is an effective remedy to reduce pitta and body heat.

1. Agnimukh Churna :

Recommended dosage: Take half teaspoonful of this syrup in half a cup of water. Drink this mixture twice daily on an empty stomach.
