Calories are a measure of how much energy the body perceives from particular food or drinks. When a person consumes more calories than they burn If not burnt that it is deposited in the form of fat. calories are the unit of energy without calories brain and cells throughout the body would not have the power to function properly.

Exercise can increase metabolism and during exercise body needs extra energy which is gets from burning fat. fat is released into the blood stream where is travel to the muscle to give them the energy to need. exercise for calories burn are :
