Hypertension in common language is known as high blood pressure. It is a condition in which the more blood is pumped through the heart that causes the narrowing of the arteries. Ultimately the long-term force of blood against walls of the artery creates heart disease. If hypertension is ignored it causes heart attack and stroke.
The common signs & symptoms faced by hypertension patients are fatigue, severe headache, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, vision problems, irregular heartbeat, blood in the urine, etc. Generally, hypertension is divided into two types primary & secondary. Primary hypertension is seen in most of the adults that gradually develop over many years. Secondary hypertension may develop due to kidney problems, obstructive sleep apnea, thyroid problems, adrenal gland tumors, certain medications like cold remedies, birth control pills, decongestants, overuse of pain killers, etc. People use to take allopathic medicines for hypertension but prolonged use causes side-effects on the body. Natural & home remedies are the best way to manage hypertension at home. So always use these instead of medicines:

1. Spinach
The spinach is rich in minerals & contain a high amount of potassium. So it is very essential for hypertension patients. This vegetable is good for reducing systolic & diastolic blood pressure. It reduces stress & promotes relaxation to the body.
How to use:
- Prepare fresh soup of spinach at home & drink this once or twice daily.
- Vegetable prepared from spinach is equally beneficial to have this once daily.
2. Flaxseeds
Flaxseeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that lower down the systolic blood pressure & prevent heart disease. It is good for treating hypertension naturally.
How to use:
- Take a teaspoonful flaxseeds with a glass of water once or twice daily.
- You can use a teaspoonful of flaxseeds powder in your cuisine as it is beneficial for maintaining your overall health.
3. Lemon
Lemon is a great home remedy for hypertension patients as it makes blood vessels flexible & softens. The presence of Vitamin B in lemons prevents a person from heart failure.
How to use:
- Drink a glass of lemon water once in the morning on an empty stomach.
- You can also use lemon for garnishing your fruits, salads, & vegetables. So that it can be consumed by you.
4. Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds are considered as one of the best herbs for regulating high blood pressure in hypertension patients. Its regular use is good for your overall health.
How to use:
- Take a teaspoonful of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water. Soak it overnight early in the morning boil this water for 2-3 minutes. Strain the seeds & drink this herbal decoction on an empty stomach.
- Make a fine powder of fenugreek seeds and store it in a container. Eat a teaspoonful of this powder once daily on an empty stomach with a glass of water.
5. Garlic
Garlic is a herb containing hydrogen sulfide in it that decreases the pressure of the heart. It controls the cholesterol level & promotes a healthy flow of blood.
How to use:
- Eat 1-2 crushed garlic clove with a glass of water once daily.
- Prepare fresh juice of garlic, add 5 drops of it in 4 teaspoons of water. Consume it twice daily.
6. Banana
Banana is rich in potassium content that controls hypertension naturally. This is one of the best home remedies for maintaining your cholesterol levels naturally.
How to use:
- Eat bananas daily as it is good for your health.
- You can also include raw banana in your diet.
7. Coconut
Coconut is very nutritious & lowers down hypertension naturally. It helps you to stay hydrated & provides energy to your body.
How to use:
- Drink green coconut water once daily.
- Use coconut oil for cooking purposes.
8. Celery
Celery is a herb containing high levels of 3-N-butylphthalide a phytochemical. It lowers down the high blood pressure naturally & maintain the stress hormones.
How to use:
- Prepare fresh juice of celery & drink this on an empty stomach early in the morning.
- You can include this herb for cooking purposes.
9. Honey

- Prepare fresh juice of basil & mix honey in it. Drink it early in the morning on an empty stomach.
