WHAT IS TESTOSTERONE HORMONE?
Testosterone is the male sexual hormone which is produced in testes. Testes are the primary gonads which are responsible for formation of male gametes called sperms. It is also produced in females by ovaries. But the amount produced in females is very less. Testosterone hormone is responsible for sexual development in males. Its production gets significant at the onset of puberty and leads to development of secondary sexual characters. It is responsible for formation of sperms, bone and muscle development, distribution of fat in body and sex drive. It also plays an important role in red blood cell production and affects mood of a man also.
However, with increasing age, the testosterone level dips leading to conditions like hypogonadism, infertility, etc. But in today’s time, low testosterone levels are seen in young men also.

1. ASHWAGANDHA
