What is Frozen Shoulder?
“Patients with shoulder stiffness often experience the most shoulder pain when they try to remove the purse from the hip pocket, activities like hair combing, driving, undressing – all lead to shoulder pain.
Often referred to as frozen shoulder, shoulder pain and stiffness are common troubles that turn everyday tasks into painful challenges. This limits your ability to shoulder and affects your quality of life.
Some people may even wake up at midnight because of difficulty turning sides due to shoulder pain. These are some of the common things we hear from people with shoulder pain or frozen shoulder. ”
Frozen shoulder is always found in the age group of about 40+, usually in the age range of 40–70 years. About 3% of the population will be affected by this, in which the problem of frozen shoulder is slightly higher in women and five times more in diabetes.
Symptoms of shoulder stiffness:
If you have a problem with frozen shoulder, you will usually experience shoulder pain, followed by an increase in shoulder stiffness. Shoulder stiffness can affect your ability to perform everyday activities and sometimes, you will not be able to move your shoulder at all.
How does a frozen shoulder grow?
Tendon stiffness usually develops slowly and in three stages. Each of these stages can last for several months.
Painful Stage / Painful Stage: During this phase, any activity in your shoulder hurts, and your ability to move your shoulder begins to become limited. This stage lasts from 3 to 9 months.
Frozen Stage / Frozen Stage: Pain may begin to subside during this stage. However, your shoulder swings, and your ability to move the shoulder also decreases significantly. This stage lasts from 4 to 12 months.
Thawing stage: During the thawing phase, your shoulder’s ability to move begins to improve. This may take from 12 to 42 months.
Tips for Relieving Shoulder Stiffness:
- Use a hot water bag / hot pack on your shoulder several times each day for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Place a thin towel between your skin and a warm pack to avoid burning.
- If possible rotate your arm / shoulder every hour.
- Eat the medicine prescribed by your doctor according to the rule.
- Sleep comfortably: If you sleep on your back, place a pillow under your aching arm and rest your hand on your stomach. If you sleep on the side, then sleep on a good arm, with a pillow affixed to the chest.
- Seating position: Sit in good posture / posture. Avoid sitting down. Try to keep your shoulders away from your ears and back.
Why is a frozen shoulder?
In frozen shoulder, the capsule of the shoulder thickens. When you normally stop using the shoulder joint due to a shoulder injury, surgery of any part of the upper body, motor impairment disorder / motor impairment disorder (all neurological troubles), diabetes, heart condition, etc. It then develops into frozen shoulder.
Long-term immobilization /no use of the shoulder, such as a surgery (mastectomy) or a fracture of an arm, usually affects a woman over 40 years of age. People who have some medical problems are already at risk for frozen shoulder. examples include:
- Diabetes
- Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
- Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
- Heart disease
- TB
- Parkinson’s disease
Ayurvedic view in frozen shoulder
Ayurveda has numerous herbal medicines which are proven to be the best medicines to cure the Frozen shoulder naturally. The medicines are free from side effects and can cure the disease from its root cause. Detox Premium Powder:

It is beneficial for diseases of stomach, stimulating nerves and appetite, promotes the level of testosterone naturally.
Recommended Dosage – Take 1 tablet twice daily.
Pain-o-kill oil:
As the name suggests Pain-O-Kill Oil reduces pain, inflammation, stiffness, & weakness in slipped disc patients. Applying this herbal oil gives effective results in lower backache, weakness, relaxes muscles, stiffness, & swelling.
Method of usage: Take little oil in your hands and gently massage over the affected of the body.
Trikatu tablet:

Home remedies for Frozen Shoulder
Towel stretch
1) Hold one end of a three-foot-long towel behind your back and grab the opposite end with your other hand.
2) Hold the towel in a horizontal position.
3) Use your good arm to pull the affected arm upward to stretch it.
Cross-body reach
1) Sit or stand.
2) Use your good arm to lift your affected arm at the elbow and bring it up and across your body, exerting gentle pressure to stretch the shoulder.
3) Hold the stretch for 15 to 20 seconds.
Armpit stretch
1) Using your good arm, lift the affected arm onto a shelf about breast-high. Gently bend your knees, opening up the armpit.
2) deepen your knee bend slightly, gently stretching the armpit, and then straighten.
3) With each knee bend, stretch a little further, but don’t force it.
Make sure that you do only light stretches so as to not strain the shoulder further. If the pain persists or increases, consult a doctor immediately.
