When we heard about dengue fever it makes us scary as we lose whole energy and have a high-grade fever. Dengue fever is transmitted by a mosquito named as Aedes mosquito. It is a viral fever that is related to the viruses that cause yellow fever. This fever is most common in Western Pacific Island & Southeast Asia. Dengue fever can affect anyone but is more severe in people with compromised immunity.
This fever can be named with other names like dandy fever or breakbone fever. If you are having mild dengue fever it causes rash, muscle and joint pain, high fever. Severe dengue fever causes dengue hemorrhagic fever that causes a drop in blood pressure, severe bleeding, & sometimes death.

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Dengue Fever?
In mild dengue fever, most of the people may experience no signs or symptoms. But these may begin in four to seven days after bitten by an infected mosquito.
- High-grade fever 104 F degree
- Headache
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Rashes
- Muscle pain
- Bone & joint pain
- Pain behind the eyes
- Rashes
In severe dengue, the signs & symptoms include:
- Bleeding from nose or gums
- Blood in stools, urine, or vomit
- Difficulty in breathing
- Fatigue
- General weakness
- Abdominal pain
- Persistent vomiting
- Cols skin
- Restlessness
- Irritability
- Severe headache
- Platelet count decreases
What are the Causes of Dengue fever?
A mosquito bite is the main reason for dengue fever. When a mosquito bites an infected person with dengue virus, this virus enters the mosquito. After that when this infected mosquito bites another person the virus enters the bloodstream of that person.
What are the Risk Factors of Dengue Fever?
The risk factors related to dengue fever are:
- Being in tropical and subtropical areas increases the risk of dengue fever. As these mosquitoes are found in this area.
- Previous infection with dengue fever increases the risk of this disease.
What is the Ayurvedic view of Dengue Fever?
In Ayurved, Dengue Fever is correlated with “Dandak Jwara” it causes an imbalance of doshas in the body. It is caused by a mosquito bite.
What is the Ayurvedic Treatment of Dengue Fever?
In Ayurved, there are numerous herbs present in nature that will manage all the signs and symptoms related to Dengue fever. 1. Detox Premium Powder:
The powder contains all the Ayurvedic herbs which strengthen the immune system of the body and prevents the complication of dengue by potentiating immune system. It helps in controlling the disease within a period of 4 to 8 days. The powder includes
Parwal Pishti – Parwal pishti is prepared from Coral calcium. It is mainly used in Pitta related disorders and helpful in bleeding disorders. This pishti relieves Ama dosha and improves the digestion power. It also improves the strength and immunity.
Shukta Pishti – It is prepared from Pearl oyster shell. Shukta pishti pacifies Pitta and Kapha dosha. It is the best ant-acid and relieves the abdominal distention. Shukta pishti reduces the rashes on the arms and legs.
Giloy Satva – Giloy satva includes water-soluble extract of Giloy/Guduchi (Tinospora Cordifolia). It balances the aggravated pitta and acts as a mild-antipyretic, antacid, and immuno-modulator. It also reduces burning sensation in the hands, feet, and body.
Kamdudha Ras – According to Ayurveda principles, Kamdudha Ras has Sheeta Virya thus it is beneficial in every Pitta Roga classified in Ayurveda. It is beneficial in the symptoms like burning sensation, restlessness, bleeding tendencies, excessive thirst, and hot flashes, vomiting with yellowish or sour water.
Akik Pishti – Akik bhasma contains Silicon Dioxide and some herbal extracts derived into in during processing with Aloe vera and Rose water. It is used in General debility, Restlessness. It works well in loss of appetite, weight loss, and feeling of excessive heat in the body.
Ghandak Rasayan – Ghandak Rasayan is a great antibacterial, antiviral ayurvedic medicine. It acts as an anti-pyretic, analgesic, & blood purifier.
Sutshekhar Ras – It is an important medicine used in Ayurveda, which acts on Pitta dosha and reduces the symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fever, headache, sour taste of mouth, restlessness, etc.
Recommended Dosage : Take 1 sachet twice a day with normal water.
2. Giloy Capsules:
As the name suggested “Giloy” is the main ingredient of this medicine. It is a potent immuno-modulator herb. It is beneficial for improving the immunity and prevents from common infections. These tablets provide palliative treatment in fever. The vati reduces Kapha dosha, pacifies Vata and detoxifies the Pitta dosha. It is beneficial in general weakness, recurrent infections, periodic fever syndrome, etc.
Recommended Dosage : Take 2 tablets twice a day with normal water.
3. Amrit Tulsi Ras:
This herbal preparation is in drops form prepared from five types of Tulsi. Shama Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Rama Tulsi (Ocimum gratissimum), Kapoor Tulsi (Ocimum canum), Shwet Tulsi (Ocimum basilicum), Nimba Tulsi (Ocimum citriodorum) that provides good result in all allergic reactions.
Recommended Dosage: Take two to three drops twice daily.
4. Liver care Syrup:
Liver Care syrup helps in balancing Pitta dosha. This Syrup enhances regeneration of liver cells, promote functions of liver, and improve blood flow from the liver. It helps in the treatment of fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, Hepatitis, hepatomegaly, and obstructive Jaundice. CAC Liver Care syrup contains Ingredients like Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata), Kutaki(Picrorhiza kurroa), Bhumi amla( phyllanthus niruri), Giloy(Tinopora Cordifolia), Yavakshar( Hordeum vulgare), Imli Kshar( Tamarindus indica), Mukta Shukta pisti etc. These herbs shows Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, Hepato-protective, properties. What is the Panchakarma Treatment of Dengue Fever?

Healthy tips & Diet Dengue Fever Patient :
- Drink green coconut water daily.
- Eat papaya fruit as well as drink juice prepared from the extract of papaya leaves.
- Drink pomegranate juice prepared at home and eat its fruit.
- Spinach increases the platelet level count so include this vegetable in your daily diet.
- Broccoli is a good vegetable that regenerates your blood platelets count so you can prepare a soup from this or eat in raw or cooked form.
- Include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet like brinjal, green peas, broccoli, cabbage, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, carrot, papaya, grapes, pomegranate, apple, watermelon, guava in daily routine.
- Also include complex carbohydrates & whole pulses such as ragi, whole wheat, brown rice, jowar, whole grain oats, yellow lentils, pink lentils, horsegram, chickpeas, etc.
- You can eat boiled two boiled egg white but avoid meat, chicken, fish, etc.
