Swollen Lymph Nodes
Lymph nodes are not one but many glands which are found in different parts of the body like behind the jaw, armpit, behind the ear, behind the head etc. Its main function is to correct the immune system so that the body can fight off harmful germs, but due to some reason the lymph nodes become inflamed, this problem is called lymphadenopathy or lymphadenitis. This can also lead to infection in other parts of the body. Apart from this, problems like cold, tonsils, gingivitis, skin infections etc. can also occur.

Irrigate with hot water
To reduce swelling in the lymph nodes, soak with warm water. When warm temperatures come into contact with other parts of the body, blood circulation in the body increases and swelling decreases. For this, heat water and soak a clean cloth in it and keep it on the swollen area for 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat this action several times a day until the swelling is gone. You can also clean the swollen area with warm water.
Salt water
If there is swelling in the lymph node found in the throat or jaw, then gargling with salt water provides quick relief. Salt and water reduces the swelling of lymph nodes. For this, heat a cup of water lightly, add half a teaspoon of salt to it. Then gargle with this water. Repeat this several times a day until the swelling subsides.
Garlic is also beneficial
Garlic has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which make it easy to remove any kind of infection. For this, take 2 or 3 cloves of garlic. Use garlic in food also. If the problem is more severe then massage with garlic oil 2 or 3 times a day. This will give relief soon.
Apple vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is known to be very effective in reducing swelling of the lymph nodes. It increases the pH level of the body, which increases the body’s immunity. For this, mix apple vinegar with equal quantity of water and soak a cloth in it and apply it on the swollen area. Use it twice a day. Irrigate with ice: Take a thick cloth and tie it tightly by placing a few pieces of ice in the middle of it. After this, make small pieces of ice by slamming it on the floor. After this, move this bundle over the swollen lymph node. Ice will reduce swelling and pain. But keep in mind that do not irrigate with ice for more than thirty seconds because your skin can become numb due to excessive cold.
Garlic
It may sound a bit strange to hear, but due to the anti-microbial properties of garlic, it is a very powerful medicinal compound. Crush two or three cloves of garlic and eat it raw as its medicinal properties are destroyed after cooking.
Radish
In winter, drink the juice of radish leaves, it is a boon for health.
Take vitamin C
Vitamin C enhances the immune system of our body and protects the body from infection. Apart from this, it increases the number of white blood cells in the blood. But since swollen lymph nodes are the biggest symptom of infection, even regular intake of vitamin C does not help to cure it. So instead you should consume a mega-dose of vitamin C (about 4 grams for an adult) either from vitamin C supplements or citrus fruits such as oranges, strawberries and pineapples.
Consumption of Manuka honey:
Manuka honey is a special type of honey produced by bees from the sap of Manuka bush in New Zealand and Australia. It is the best honey ever discovered by humans. It is much better than raw honey because it contains powerful antimicrobial agents. Studies have found that it is also able to fight antibiotic-resistant infections in the body. This is the reason why Manuka honey is very helpful in reducing the swelling in the lymph nodes.
Use of Castor Oil:
Castor oil is a thick oil and it makes hair grow faster. But apart from this, it also has anti-inflammatory and pain killer properties. To reduce the swelling of lymph nodes, apply oil on the swollen nodes and massage for five minutes. After this, soak a towel in lukewarm water and squeeze it well and keep it on the oiled area for ten minutes and after that clean the oil with lukewarm water. Do this process twice daily, it will give relief in a week.
Drink Lemonade:
Drinking lemon water provides vitamin C to the body. Squeeze a lemon into a glass of lukewarm water. Do not add sugar or salt to it. Drink this solution once in the morning and once at night.
Consume Spirulina:
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae found in the ocean, which is usually eaten in powder form. It is also called the “Super Food of the Future” because it contains 55 – 70% protein, 8 essential amino acids, vitamins A and B complex, iron and calcium, among many nutrients.
