A patient Rajkumar 25 years old visit our clinic (Chandigarh Ayurved Centre) with complaint of jaundice . He told during his history that the problem started 2 months back when the family suddenly notice yellowish discoloration of skin as well as the eyes . They then visit the nearby hospital and get the consultation done . The doctor advise him of some blood reports (CBC,LFT,CRP-QUANTITATIVE) . 7 SHIRODHARA :

In Ayurveda, Shirodhara is a classic therapy which includes pouring of warm herbal oil on the forehead in a continuous stream. The term Shirodhara comes from two words “Shiro” meaning ‘head’ and “Dhara” meaning ‘stream’ that is considered as Bahiparimarjanachikitsa, or external treatments in Ayurveda.

Procedure –Shirodhara treatment begins with Abhyangam. The person has to lie down on the table with closed eyes and relax the body. Before starting the treatment, eyes and ears should be covered with clean cotton to prevent the entrance of oil in eyes and ears. The procedure starts with the pouring of about 2 liters lukewarm oil continuously as a stream on to the forehead in an oscillating manner. Her husband was already searching on net and got very good review of effectiveness of ayurvedic medicines in ULCERATIVE COLITIS.

7 PATRA POTLI PIND SWEDA :-

In other terms, Patra Pinda Sweda is known as Elakizhi, and is described as a form of sweat therapy prepared from herbal ingredients such as the leaves of medicinal plants. Different leaves are selected for this procedure depending on the disease to be treated and the dosha involved in causing the disorder. The commonly used leaves of the plants are Eranda (Ricinus communis), Nirgundi (Vitex negundo), Arka (Calotropis gigantea), etc.

Procedure – The fresh leaves of different plants are collected, sliced and tied in a bolus. Then, the bolus is placed in a pan and heated. Alternatively, it may be dipped in herbal oils that are being heated at a constant temperature. Once the bolus is sufficiently heated, it is removed and gently rubbed over the joints and other affected areas. The bolus should be changed with another heated one once it cools down to maintain the temperature at the site being treated. Once the treatment is over, the treated parts are wiped with a clean and dry tissue paper.

8 LEPAM :-

Lepa is the fine paste of the selected drugs used for external application. In Ayurveda lepa is mentioned for both ‘chikitsa’ of various diseases and beauty.

Procedure-The selected herbal drugs are collected and pounded to a fine powder form in a khalvayantra and add the required quantity of water to make a thin paste. The paste is applied to the whole body for a certain period. After the paste gets dry, it is removed with clean cotton and a warm bath is given to the patient. For moisturizing, aloe vera gel is applied to the whole of the body

A 35 years old male patient Vijay belongs to Gurdaspur visit our clinic with complaint of ulcerative colitis . He tell in his history that the problem started 8 years back when he suddenly noticed blood and mucous with stool and couldn’t understand the problem . He then visited to Dr Bengoli for the same where he underwent several blood test (CBC , CRP , TSH) along with colonoscopy . Rajmal a 40 years male patient from Hisar visit our clinic with a tense Ascites (Fluid in abdomen) with difficulty in breathing. He lookspale,tensed, breathlessness and edema over whole body. As Pitta is situated at the level of intestines, it is best to expel toxins through the anal route. The Ayurvedic medications that are used for the therapy may vary from person to person depending on the patient’s digestion strength. During the whole treatment, the patient will be subjected to oral intake of Ayurvedic medicines followed by fermentation. The patient will also be subjected to a personalized light and warm diet.

Sukhdev belong to Rohtak , he is a farmer. He used to enjoy his whiskey but latter on exceeded his limits in having whiskey up to 1 or sometime 2 bottle a day. Manpreet a patient with 30 years of age suffering with ulcerative colitis visit our clinic .
