Romiplostim comes under class of drugs called as Thrombopoietin receptor agonists. It is usually indicated in the treatment of chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. It is usually administrated in injection form at weekly interval by subcutaneous route. Its half-life ranges in between 1 to 34 days.

MECHANISM OF ACTION :

It  activates inter-cellular transcriptional pathway through c-Mpl to increase the production of platelets in body. It also have similar work like an endogenous glycoprotein hormone which tends to regulates production of platelets in bone marrow.
