Bhringraj –
Scientific name- Eclipta alba
Family- Asteraceae
Common name- False daisy, Kehraj, Karisalankanni, Tekarajah, Bhangra etc.
- It balances Vata and Kapha dosha.
- It is a medical herb that usually grows in moist areas.
- This herb is especially used for treating various hair and skin problems.
- It is having “Keshya” property i.e. it provides nourishment to the hair follicles and thus soothes your scalp.
- It also promotes growth of new hair follicles and thus helps to regain good volume of hair.
- You can purchase bhringraj oil from stores or you can prepare it at home as well.
- Traditional process of making Bhringaraja oil- Firstly, the leaves are dried; grinded into powdered form and then heated it with oil.
- A quicker way of making the oil of Bhringaraj at home is to heat powdered bhringraj leaves with coconut oil and then store it.
Method of Application- Take little quantity of oil in your palm and then apply it directly on the scalp, let the roots absorb it.
Leave it overnight for about 45 minutes and then wash off using a mild shampoo.
This oil can be used for treating various hair and skin issues.
2. Fenugreek-
Scientific name–Trigonella foenum-graecum
Common names- Greek clover, Greek hay, Methi, Methidana, Chandrika, bahupatrika, Gandhabija, Gandhaphala etc.
Family- FabaceaeAyurveda recognized the potential of fenugreek thousands of years back and continues to make most of its health and beauty benefits in its practice.

Scientific name- Emblica officinalis
Family- Euphorbiaceae

- Amla or Indian gooseberry has been an essential part of hair care rituals in India since time immemorial.
- Gentle Massage of the scalp with amla oil helps to increase blood circulation.
- This supplies nourishment to the hair follicles, which is important for the hair growth.
- It is beneficial for overall scalp health and removes dandruff and dissolving grease and dirt from hair follicles.

Method of preparation- The amla oil can be prepared at home too. Heat some coconut oil in a pan and add 2 teaspoons of amla powder. Heat the oil until it turns brown. After 2-3 minutes, turn off the heat and set the oil aside to cool. Collect the oil in a container or bowl.

4. Brahmi :
Scientific name- Bacopa monnieri
Family- Plantaginaceae
