Prishta Vasti – Panchakarma Treatment for Whole Spine Related Diseases

Prishta means complete back region. Prishta Vasti is a procedure where medicated oil is retained over back region for a specific period of time. It is mainly indicated for the diseases related to whole spine.
PROCEDURE
The patient is made to lie on the massage table. The dough which is prepared by using wheat flour or black gram is placed over the whole vertebral column. Lukewarm medicated oil is poured into it and is made to stay for some time. When the oil gets cooled, it is squeezed out using a cotton swab and warm medicated oil is again poured into it. This step is repeated for about 5-6 times. The procedure lasts for about half an hour. After the treatment is over, the oil is removed along with the dough and gentle abhyanga or massage with the same oil is done over the vertebral column for the better absorption of the oil. The patient is advised to take rest for a while.
Greeva Vasti – Panchakarma Treatment for Cervical Spondylosis

The cervical region is known as Greeva and Vasti means which covers or surrounds. Greeva Vasti is a procedure where medicated oil is retained for a specified time in the neck region. Greeva Vasti is the most specialized treatment for neck pain and diseases related to cervical region.
PROCEDURE
The person is made to lie face down on the massaged table. Then a reservoir made of gram flour or wheat flour is placed over the affected area of the cervical region. Lukewarm medicated oil is poured into it and made to stay for at least 5-10 minutes. When the oil is cooled down, it is squeezed out using cotton swab and the oil is replaced with warm medicated oil. The procedure lasts for about half an hour.
After completing the procedure, the affected area is gently massaged with the same oil for better absorption of the medicated oil.
Kati Vasti – Panchakarma Treatment for Lower Back Pain

The waist area of the body is called Kati and holding warm medicated ayurvedic oils on the affected area is called Vasti. Kati vasti is a highly effective treatment to alleviate stress, pain or swelling in the lower back wherein warm medicated oil is poured into an enclosed area of the waist created with a bridge of dough.
PROCEDURE
Firstly the patient is asked to lie face down on the bed or massage table. Medicated oil is locally applied around the lumbo-sacral region and then a reservoir made of black gram or wheat flour dough is built around the area. Making sure that it is leak proof, lukewarm medicated oil is slowly poured into it. When the oil starts to cool down, it is squeezed out using cotton and more warm oil is poured in it. The oil is kept for around 30 minutes.
Once this part is done, the affected area is gently massaged for better absorption of the medicated oil. This is usually done for a course of 7 days or as advised by the ayurveda practitioner.

NATURAL REMEDIES FOR PROSTATITIS, PROSTATITIS HOLISTIC TREATMENT – CAUSES & SYMPTOMS
Prostatitis is defined as the inflammation of the prostate gland. Prostate is a small walnut sized organ in men, located at the base of the bladder, surrounding the urinary passage called urethra. The average volume of a normal prostate gland is 15-30c.c. In case of prostate cancer or prostatitis, this volume may be exceptionally increased.
It is a disease that mainly affects males. Approximately 40% of urinary system related problems are caused due to prostatitis. Though it can affect males at any age, elderly men have been found to commonly complaint of prostatitis.
Acute prostatitis is caused due to bacterial infection and may prove to be fatal as it may result in the spread of infection to the whole body. Urethritis is defined as the inflammation of the urethra. Urethra is a tube that carries urine from bladder to outside of the body. Urethritis results in increased urge of urination and pain while urinating. It is mainly caused due to bacterial infections that enter into urinary tract through urethra. It affects people of all the age groups. However, females are prone to develop this infection as compared to males.
CAUSES
- Bacterial and fungal infections. Primary infection from sexually transmitted diseases causing germs like Gonococcus, Chlamydia etc.

Rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults is caused due to lack of vitamin D in the human body. Lack of vitamin D causes decreased absorption of calcium and phosphorous which leads to the softness and weakness of the bones. Due to softness, the body gets bent and twisted, which is known by the name rickets.

Diarrhoea is a condition in which there is a frequent passage of watery unformed stools. It can lead to dehydration and in the extreme cases can also lead to death. Diarrhoea can be acute or chronic. It has a sudden onset and lasts less than two weeks but sometimes takes longer.
CAUSES
Diarrhoea is caused due to following reasons:

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis seen in older people. It is a joint disorder caused by the breakdown of cartilage. Healthy cartilage acts as a cushion between the bones and allows the bones to glide over one another and absorb energy from the shock of physical movement. In this disease, the cartilage breaks down and wears away. Due to this, the two bones rub together and cause pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints.
It can occur in any joint of the body but most often it develops in the hands and weight bearing joints, including the knees, hips and sine usually in the neck and lower back.
