Ayurvedic medicine offers several natural remedies for yeast infections, focusing on balancing the body’s doshas and addressing the root causes. Here are some Ayurvedic treatments and practices:
- Dietary Changes: Follow an Ayurvedic diet that balances your dosha. Reducing sugar, dairy, and refined carbohydrates is often recommended, as these can aggravate the infection.

- Yogic Asana: Yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises) can help improve overall health and strengthen the immune system, which can be essential in preventing and managing yeast infections.

- Ayurvedic Cleansing: Panchakarma, a series of Ayurvedic detoxification procedures, can help remove toxins from the body and balance doshas.
- Triphala: Triphala, an herbal preparation, is used to cleanse the digestive system and support overall health, potentially aiding in yeast infection prevention.

INTRODUCTION
Hydrocephalus is a neurological disorder condition characterized by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain’s ventricles , the excess fluid increase the size of ventricles and leading to increased pressure on the brain.
TYPES OF HYDROCEPHALUS
- Congenital hydrocephalus : This type of hydrocephalus is present at birth and may be caused by genetic abnormalities or developmental disorders that affect the flow or absorption of CSF .
- Acquired hydrocephalus: This type of hydrocephalus develops after birth and is often due to conditions such as brain tumors , infections , hemorrhage or trauma
- Communicating hydrocephalus : In this type of hydrocephalus , there is a problem with the absorption of CSF , leading to a buildup of fluid within the ventricles. The CSF can still flow between the ventricles , but it is not being absorbed properly into the bloodstream.
- Non-communicating hydrocephalus : This also known as obstructive hydrocephalus , this type occurs when there is a blockage or obstruction in the pathways that allow CSF to flow between the ventricles.
- Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH): This type of hydrocephalus is characterized by an enlargement of the ventricles without an increase in pressure.
CAUSES
Some Common Causes include :
- Obstruction : Blockage or narrowing of the passages (ventricles) that allow CSF to flow through the brain can lead to hydrocephalus.
- Overproduction of CSF : In some cases , the body may produce too much CSF , leading to a buildup and subsequent hydrocephalus.
- Impaired CSF absorption : CSF is normally absorbed into the bloodstream after circulating through the brain . If this absorption process is impaired , CSF can accumulate and cause hydrocephalus.
- Infections
- Hemorrhage
SYMPTOMS
Symptoms of hydrocephalus mostly depend on age.
In infants sign and symptoms include :
- Increase in head size

COPD
Ayurveda and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease:
Ayurveda is the science of body humours vata, pitta and kapha. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is known as Shwasavrodha which is mainly due to the vitiation of Kapha Dosha and accumulation of Ama (toxins). The reason behind the vitiation of Kapha dosha mentioned in Ayurvedic context are excessive intake of oily, fried, sour, salty or dry foods, addiction to cigarette smoking etc. this leads to rise in Kapha inside the body that impaired Agni (digestive power) this further leads to blockage of various micro channels (srotas) inside the body. These channels are of exchange of air and blood. The expiration leads to push out oxygen out of the body and inhalation of Oxygen in the body, this process is called as Prana. Hence the flow of Prana vayu gets obstructed causing COPD.
Nidanasevan (causative agent)
Kapha and Ama increases in Amashaya
This vitiated Kapha moves upwards and reaches the respiratory system
And producing obstruction in the respiratory tract (Pranvahastrotasa)
Normal movements of Prana Vayu are hampered and moves upward
Producing the disease Shwasa
Treatment of COPD in modern medicine:
Inhaled bronchodilators: bronchodilators are the medicines that help loosen tight muscles in the airways. They are taken as inhaler or nebulizer. Bronchodialtors are of two types Short-acting bronchodilators and Long Acting bronchodilator.
- aclidinium/formoterol
- glycopyrrolate/formoterol
- tiotropium/olodaterol
- Corticosteroids: Glucocorticosteroid reduces the inflammation in the airways and decreases the mucus production.
