FACIAL PALSY AND ITS AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT

It is a condition which is caused by the paralysis of 7th cranial nerve .when a facial nerve is not receiving the signals properly it results in paralysis of affected part of face and there is temporary weakness of facial muscle .

CAUSES OF FACIAL PALSY:
- HIV which damage to the immune system .
- Injury to the vital points ( marma ).
- Respiratory illness
- Multiple sclerosis.
- Sarcoidosis which causes organ inflammation.
- Mumps
- Measles
- Lyme disease
- Otitis media .
SYMPTOMS OF FACIAL PALSY:
- Inability to close eyes
- Loss of nasolabial fold.
- Headache
- Tinnitus
- Dribbling of saliva
- Loss of taste.
- Loss of sensation in face
- Sensitivity to sounds .
- Difficulity in speaking .
- Disordered movements of muscle such as smiling , blinking, closing the eyelid .
- Difficulity in eating or drinking.
- Jaw or neck stiffness
- Numbness in nose ,lips, eyes etc.
- Impairment of hearing
- Asymmetrical facial muscle tone .
RISK FACTORS FOR FACIAL PALSY:
- In pregnant ladies.
- Diabetic person.
- Lung infection.
- Family history

- Blood test
- Electromyography
- MRI scan
- CT scan .
AYURVEDIC APPROACH OF FACIAL PALSY:
In Ayurveda Facial palsy is compared with ardita in which vitiation of vata dosha and is situated in near by nerves , arteries , and veins and declines these functions . this condition is resulted as ardita .
FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR FACIAL PALSY:
- Loudly speak
- Chewing hard food items .
- Laughing, sneezing , yawning excessively
- Use too high or low pillows.
- Anemia
- Intake of excess amount of alcohol.
- Long standing ulcers.
- Injury to marma .
- Improper posture .

CAC MEDICATION FOR THE TREATMENT OF FACIAL PALSY :
1. Detox Premium Powder:
These are the herbo-mineral sachets which help in detoxification and maintain proper metabolism of all the functions. This formulation acts at the level of the nervous system and facilitate the proper conduction of signal impulse from the nerves to the muscles. 4. Vata Tablet

6. Trikatu Syrup:
