Cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the skin which is very common but life-threatening. It can occur on any part of the body but it usually affects lower legs. The area which gets involved becomes swollen and inflamed. It gets warm and painful to touch. The swelling spread to the nearby areas rapidly. The discoloration is of pinkish red color in lighter skin tones to grayish purple color in dark skin tones. The bacterial infection occurs when the skin gets break at a particular place leading to entry of bacteria in the body.
It can be treated with medications but if not treated properly, the infection spreads to the underlying tissues, nearby lymph nodes and bloodstream.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE REASONS OF CELLULITIS?
The bacteria which cause cellulitis are streptococcus and staphylococcocus bacteria. When the skin gets breakdown either through a crack or injury, then the bacteria enter through that break into the body. The bacteria enter through cuts, puncture wounds, ulcers, dermatitis, athlete’s foot and recent surgical sites.
SYMPTOMS OF CELLULITIS
The signs and symptoms of cellulitis are:
- Inflammation of the skin
- Swelling of the concerned area
- Pain and tenderness
- Soreness of skin
- Tight and glossy skin
- Area is warm on touch
- Fever
- Abscess
- Chills
- Dizziness
- Feeling tired
- Dizziness
- Muscle aches
- Sweating
- Blisters on the affected skin
- Shivering
- Dimpling of skin
COMPLICATIONS OF CELLULITIS
Some of the complications which are associated with cellulitis are:
- Permanent swelling of the concerned part
- Septic shock
- Severe damage of tissue causing gangrene
- Damage to the nearby internal organs
- Amputation
- Endocarditis
- Osteomyelitis
- Necrotising fasciitis
- Death
DIAGNOSIS OF CELLULITIS
The doctor will ask about the signs and symptoms of the disease to the patient. He will do a physical examination. He will ask about the previous history of any bug bite or skin injury, etc. He may suggest some of the tests like blood tests, CT scan for the evaluation of the disease.
AYURVEDIC TREATMENT OF CELLULITIS
Here are some of the medications of Chandigarh ayurved center which are used for the treatment of cellulitis:
1. Kapha Balance tablet
CAC Kapha tablet is a healthy blend of herbs formulated to balance Kapha doshas without aggravating Pitta and Vata doshas. It can also be used to alleviate any temporary Kapha imbalance. It is very effective in Kapha season that is late winter and spring. It consists of warming and astringent herbs that help to balance the system throughout the cold season. The main use of Kapha tablets is to remove excess Kapha doshas from the system and helps in the management of weight, healthy lungs, and the immune system.
Recommended Dosage: Take 1 tablet twice a day with normal water.
2. Trikatu syrup
TRIKATU SYRUP is purely Ayurvedic formulation made up of three herbs. CAC Trikatu Syrup helps to eliminate excess Kapha or mucous from the body, supports respiratory system, manages weight, helps to take out impurities or ama from the body, supports healthy detoxification, reduces swelling. It shows anti-inflammatory, analgesic, expectorant, antioxidant properties.
Recommended Dosage– Take 2 tablespoon in a day.
3. Panchasakar Churna
The churna has best results in the detoxification of excess toxins from the body and maintains the proper metabolism. It is made up of a total of 5 ingredients – Shunthi (Zingiber officinale), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Svaran patri (Cassia angustifolia), Shatapushpa (Foeniculum vulgare),Sauvarchala lavana (Rock salt). The powder reduces the inflammation, redness, relieves constipation, abdominal discomfort, etc. and also prevents it from re-occurring.
Recommended Dosage– Take 1 teaspoonful at bedtime with lukewarm water.
4. Twak churna
Twak Churna balances all the three doshas of your body. It help reduce symptoms of various skin diseases like ECZEMA, PSORIASIS, cure FRECKLES, and other skin allergies. It help reduce Pigmentation of skin, MELASMA over face and Acne along with Urticaria, Cellulites and all kinds of Dermatitis. It contain ingredients like Yashtimadhu and Manjishtha that possess antioxidant, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Recommended Dosage: Take 1 teaspoon twice daily with normal water.
5. Skin Care tablet
Skin care tablet is herbo mineral and purely ayurvedic formulation. It help to maintain the texture of your skin depending on the type of skin you have. It contains various herbs like Haridra khand, Panchnimb churna, Khadir chahal, Chirayta, Mulethi, Chopchini, Gandhak, Ajmoda that work very effectively on all skin types. Skin care is a blood purifying tablet. It cools and detoxifies the blood, removes stagnant blood and dissolves obstructions in the blood flow that further increase blood circulation of the skin.
Recommended Dosage:Take 1 tablet twice daily.
6. Detox Premium Powder
The eczema sachet consists of various herbo-mineral preparations in it.
Parwal Pishti:This Pishti is prepared from natural coral calcium processed with rose water. It reduces the inflammation in the eczema patients.
Shukta Pishti:It contains pearl oyster shell calcium processed in different ways. This Pishti balances the pitta dosha in the body.
Giloy Satv:This satv is prepared from the herb Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia). The antioxidant nature of this herb removes all toxins out from the body.
Gandhak Rasayana:The main ingredient in this is purified sulphur that acts as a blood purifier. This rasayana deal with all signs and symptoms related to eczema.
Sudhyog Tab:These are herbal tablets that provide very effective result in eczema patients.
Moti Pishti:This is an ayurvedic preparation that shows anti-inflammatory properties. As it reduces inflammation in eczema patients.
Recommended Dosage: Take 1 sachet twice daily with plain water.
