ULCERATIVE COLIITIS – WEEKLY DIET PLAN

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes ulcers in the intestine. Symptoms of this disease develop gradually. Most common symptoms of this disease are abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, weight loss, fever and fatigue etc. It can be managed easily by using medications and following a proper diet with it.
Here we mention a weekly diet plan for ULCERATIVE COLITIS disease which leads to decrease in the frequency and severity of symptoms by balancing the doshas and thus get rid of them by some dietary modifications:

Breakfast 8;30- 9;30 am | 1 cup veg porridge + 1 spoon sunflower seeds |
MID MEAL 11:00- 11:30 AM | 1 glass of Coconut water |
LUNCH 2.00 – 2;30 pm | 3 chapati + ridge guard + cucumber salad |
EVENING 4;00 – 4;30 pm | buttermilk |
DINNER 7;30 – 8;30 pm | 2chapati+ 1cup of brown rice + geeen beans sbji+ salad |

MID MEAL 11:00- 11:30 AM | Aloe vera juice |
LUNCH 2.00 – 2;30 pm | 2 chappati + green moong+ half cup of rice + mint chutney |
EVENING 4;00 – 4;30 pm | Green tea |
DINNER 7;30 – 8;30 pm | 2 chapati + Brown rice + turnip |
WEDNESDAY | |
Breakfast 8;30- 9;30 am | 1 cup veg poha |
MID MEAL 11:00- 11:30 AM | Mojito of Mint leaves and coriander leaves |
LUNCH 2.00 – 2;30 pm | 3 chapati + Green beans + cucumber salad |

DINNER 7:30 – 8:30 pm | 3 chappati + mix veg + salad |
FOODS TO BE AVOIDED:
- Beetroot, Broccoli, Asparagus, Onion, Brussels sprouts, Ladyfinger, Capsicum, Brinjal.
- Rye, Bread crackers, Cookies, Wheat, Pasta.
- Avoid all dairy products like Cow’s milk, Yogurt, Custard, Ice cream.
- Cashew nuts, Walnuts, Groundnuts, Peanut, Hazelnuts.
- Red chili, Black pepper, Asafoetida, Ginger, Cloves, Garlic, Black cardamom
- Alcohol, Coffee, Citrus juices, Caffeinated drink or Carbonated drink.
