DESCRIPTION
Sarcoidosis is a condition in which inflammatory cells develop in various parts of your body. Limbs swell due to this disease. Sarcoidosis, causing clumps of inflammatory cells or granulomas in various organs. You can also get this inflammatory disease as a response to your immune system when some foreign elements like bacteria, viruses etc. enter your body. Due to this condition, organs of your body like lungs, eyes, skin, liver, heart can be affected. Sometimes its effect is also seen in the mind.
Sarcodosis granulomas are also known as granulomatous disease. Granulomas are also considered the early stage of the tumor. Such tumors can be seen with the help of a microscope.
CAUSES
However, the reason for this condition is unknown. Common causes of sarcoidosis. The following are the most common causes of sarcoidosis :
- Genetic factors
- Exposure to bacteria or viruses
- Exposure to dust or chemicals
- It is believed that your gender, your age and your genetics can play an important role in getting this condition in the body.
- This condition is found more in women than in men.
- If someone in your family has this condition, your risk of getting it may also increase.
- This condition is less common in children and is more common in people between the ages of 20 and 40, especially in women.
SYMPTOMS
Some common symptoms include:
- Feeling tired
- Having trouble breathing.
- Rapid heartbeat.
- Dryness of lips
- Not feeling hungry
- Weight loss
- Body rash and fever.
- Feeling of pain in the joints.
- Always troubled by dry cough and cold.
When the disease starts to progress,
- Then large lumps are formed inside the lung and the size of the lung becomes small.
- The patient starts feeling breathless and there is no relief in cough.
- When other parts of the body are affected, then the suffering of the patient starts increasing. For example, when the eye is affected, the eyesight decreases. Sometimes a red rash develops on the skin. The size of the liver and spleen becomes larger.
- Sometimes sarcoidosis also affects the brain and kidneys. In the extreme stage of the disease, the heart and kidneys also stop working and swelling occurs throughout the body.
- Due to the excess amount of water in the body, the weight of the body increases and the patient is unable to walk. This is the final stage of the disease. Although this disease is not serious, but when it affects the kidneys and brain, then it becomes incurable.
HOW TO RECOGNIZE SARCOIDOSIS
Sarcoidosis is very difficult to diagnose. Problems like dry cough, fatigue, trouble in breathing are seen in most of the people. In some people, painful red skin rashes, blurred vision, burning eyes, watery eyes, and joint pain have also been seen in some people. Enlargement of the lymph gland between the thigh and abdomen and pain in it are also the main symptoms.
HOW SARCOIDOSIS AFFECTS YOUR HEALTH
If you do not get the treatment of this condition in time, then you may see the following problems like
- Lung infection
- Cataracts
- Blindness
- Kidney failure
- Abnormal heart beat
- Paralysis of the mouth
- Difficulty conceiving a child and infertility.
WHEN TO SEE A DOCTER
- When you are having trouble while breathing.
- When your heart is beating too slowly or too fast.
- Blurred or not visible at all.
- Pain in the eye
- Sensitivity to light.
- Numbness of the mouth.
DON’T THINK OF ‘SARCOIDOSIS’ AS TB
There is another disease similar to tuberculosis (TB), which is called sarcoidosis. TB disease can affect any part of the body, although 90 percent of patients have TB. As it affects the lungs. Earlier it was believed that the disease named Sarcoidosis is not found in the country, but in the last few years many people have been suffering from this disease, which is continuing. Since the symptoms of this disease are TB. Disease is similar. Therefore, it is a difficult task for both the doctor and the patient to differentiate between the two. It is often seen that the treatment of a patient with sarcoidosis is TB. caused by drugs. Eventually the doctor learns that the victim has TB. He had no disease and was affected by the disease of sarcoidosis.
