About Bronchitis Versus Cold
It can be hard to determine whether you have the common cold or bronchitis, when you first start coughing, feeling fatigued, and noticing a low-grade fever.
Let’s know, if you have a Common cold or Bronchitis. A cold may potentially turn into bronchitis. Acute bronchitis, which lasts for 7 to 10 days, is called as a chest cold.
The most significant difference between the two is that a cold is a viral infection in the upper respiratory tract on the other hand Bronchitis is a LRTI or lower respiratory infection affecting the bronchial tubes, the airways that carry oxygen to your lungs.
Similarities is that Bronchitis and common cold both are caused by a virus. In Common cold and Bronchitis i.e. the cells that line the bronchi become infected in both the cases.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COMMON COLD AND BRONCHITIS

Long-term cough can be a problem of bronchitis
Bronchitis can happen to children or adults. Especially in women who smoke during pregnancy, the lungs can remain underdeveloped due to the increase in the amount of certain enzymes in the body of the unborn baby. Bronchitis is an inflammation of the airways. In this, with persistent cough, the infection in the lungs progresses rapidly and many changes are seen in the body, which can be stopped by medicines and diet in time.
The main reason is smoking or excessive pollution present in the environment. The risk of disease is higher for 22 percent of people who smoke cigarettes. In rural areas, women working on chulhas cause lung damage due to its smoke.
Who are more prone to the Respiratorydiseases?
- Those who have very weak immunity
- Those who have TB, HIV and kidney related diseases.
- Cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy are also at risk.
- Cigarette smokers
- Children’s due to immature immunity
- Older Adults
- Stress and Lack of sleep
Ayurvedic Remedies –
- Instead of sugar in milk, mix 1-2 spoons of honey and drink it.
- Take 2-3 Black pepper and take it along with honey three times a day.
- Make powder of dry ginger and myrobalan and drink half a teaspoon, two teaspoons of honey mixed with it.
- Eat seasonal fruits and green vegetables along with nutritious food in the diet.
- Drinking lukewarm milk is beneficial.
- Practice Yoga and Pranayama and deep breathing Exercises.
