Prevention Tips for Migraine
- To avoid migraine or recurring, the risk of getting some changes in your lifestyle and diet can be reduced to some extent –
- Always avoid temperature changes like if you use an air conditioner in the summer, do not get out of the heat at once and do not drink too much cold water from the heat.
- If you are going out in the hot sun during the summer season, then avoid direct sunlight and use sunglasses or umbrellas.
- Avoid traveling more and more during the summer season.
- Must drink 8 to 10 glasses of water or else you may have dehydration because dehydration is the biggest cause of migraine problem so drink more and more water.
- Avoid eating such things in which there is more sweat like tea, coffee etc. during humid weather.
- Do not eat too much chilli, keep blood pressure maintenance and do not eat birth control pills, if you want to take birth control pills, then take it in low doses.
- Go for a walk in the morning, walk on the barefoot grass because it reduces stress and if the tension is low then the hormones will also remain in balance which also reduces the migraine.
- For 30 minutes, do Yogasan or Pranayam, you will get a lot of benefit from this, 10 minutes daily meditation is also very beneficial for us.
- Migraine patients should drink plenty of fluids ie soup, lemonade, coconut water, buttermilk, lassi etc.
- Eat plenty of fruits and green vegetables.
- Take a small amount of salt. Half a teaspoon of salt a day is enough because most food items contain salt by themselves.
- Avoid taking tea, coffee and cold drinks etc. Taking them can increase migraine.
- Avoid the consumption of alcohol and chocolate. They also cause headache.
- Rich oil-spiced food and fasting also increase migraine problems, so avoid it.
- Exercise improves sleep and reduces the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches, cycling is beneficial for migraine sufferers. Cardiovascular exercise is the best way to dissolve the feeling of being stable and ‘stuck’, which occurs before migraine sufferers.
- Balasana, Uttanasana, Setubandh Sarvangasana, Halasana is beneficial in yoga.
- Choose the sweet and soft music of your choice, and sit and listen. Also, calm your body every time you exhale.
- Deep inhaled meditation helps to relieve migraine by bringing more oxygen to the body.

Generally home remedies are adopted first to get rid of the problem of migraine.
Ice pack beneficial in relieving migraine
Ice pack is very beneficial for relieving swollen muscles due to migraine. Place a few pieces of ice in a clean towel and compress it on the back of the head, forehead and neck for 10-15 minutes. Adding a few drops of peppermint oil to the ice is quicker. Use whenever needed.
Peppermint to Get Relief from Migraine
Peppermint has inflammation-reducing properties. Also, it helps calm and stabilize the mind. You can drink peppermint tea or a few drops of peppermint oil mixed with a teaspoon of honey in half a glass of water. Massaging the head and forehead with peppermint oil for 20-25 minutes is also beneficial.
Apple vinegar beneficial in relieving migraine
Apple cider vinegar i.e. apple vinegar provides relief in migraine. Drink a glass of water with a small spoon of apple vinegar and a spoon of honey. Drinking continuously for about 30 days will provide relief. Take 2-3 spoons when you have a migraine or feel it is going to happen. It cleanses the body, controls sugar and blood pressure, reduces weight and also relieves bones and joints pain. If you do not have apple vinegar, you can eat apple too. Smelling the green apple can also be beneficial.
Lavender oil is beneficial in relieving migraine
It is a home remedy for both general headaches and migraine pain. People believe that its fragrance is very effective for migraine. Smelling a few drops of lavender oil in hot water provides great relief.
Basil oil is beneficial in relieving migraine
Everyone is familiar with the natural properties of Tulsi but we can tell you that Tulsi oil is also very effective in migraine pain. The use of basil oil helps in relieving the pain of migraine. Basil oil relaxes the muscles thereby reducing stress and relieving pain.
Changes in daily diet are beneficial in relieving migraine
