Patient Story – Ramphal, Suffering from Alcholic Cirrhosis

A 40 years old male Ramphal visit our clinic (CHANDIGARH AYURVED CENTRE) with his family. He had a tensed face with acne , bloated abdomen and difficulty in breathing . 

He during his history tell that he was chronic alcoholic for 5 years and left 1 year back when the problem started. His family notice the problem when his appetite decrease and he continue consuming alcohol for day and night. The family dried a lot but not able to stop him from drinking alcohol then they decide to visit a doctor for the same. They visit the nearby hospital and get the consultation of doctor done . He then advise him of some blood reports as well as USG abdomen for the liver . After seeing the result of the report the doctor tell them that he developed alcoholic liver disease and also told them that he develop liver cirrhosis . He make counselling of the patient not to drink alcohol if he doesn’t stop consuming alcohol his condition will worsen day by day . The family feels the strome of sorrow and they couldn’t understand the severity of the disease . He got admitted there for 1 week and started treatment also they had a consultation of psychiatrist for the withdrawal symptoms . He got discharge after a week and took medication for 10 days . But with the medication his sleep increase and also had slurred speech which make the family more worried about . They again rush to the hospital and tell all his complaints . The doctor then decrease the dose of psychiatric medication so that the sedation due to the drug could be decreased. He then show some improvement but result of the medication was not satisfactory .

They then decide to change the doctor for the disease treatment and visit another doctor for the treatment . After examination of the patient and going through all his report the doctor prescribe him of some medication . He tried many medication from different hospitals but doesn’t get satisfactory response.
