What is bronchitis ?
The respiratory tract is called the bronchi or bronchial tubes. When these tubes get infected, swollen or mucus is formed, that condition is called bronchitis. This is often caused by respiratory infections caused by viruses or bacteria. Bronchitis causes coughing problems and can also take the form of mucus. Problems such as shortness of breath, mild fever, wheezing, fatigue, and chest tightness can be symptoms of bronchitis .
Types of bronchitis
There are mainly two types of bronchitis
Acute Bronchitis – This is the most common type of bronchitis. It spreads due to viruses or bacteria and can also be caused by allergies. Usually it is cured within a few days, but even after the infection goes away, a person may have a cough problem for a few days.
Chronic Bronchitis– This is a chronic obstructive disease (COPD) related to the lungs, which can cause breathing problems. Due to this, excessive amount of mucus can also be formed in the respiratory tract. The main reason for this may be smoking.
Causes of acute bronchitis:
- Allergic bronchitis or acute bronchitis is usually caused by the same virus, which causes colds.
- There is a high possibility of the virus coming into contact with the virus or spreading through the air.
- Consumption of tobacco, smoking, air pollution can also be the reason.
Causes of chronic bronchitis:
- Polluted air and smoking cause chronic bronchitis.
- Long-term exposure to dusty soil also increases the risk of chronic bronchitis.
- This can happen due to the use of someone’s cigarette and also due to chemical dust.
- In rare cases, deficiency of alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT-type protein) can also lead to chronic bronchitis.
Symptoms of bronchitis
Symptoms of bronchitis are very common, which often go unnoticed. If the symptoms below appear for a longer period of time, be cautious and seek home remedies or medical advice for bronchitis immediately. We are also distributing the symptoms of bronchitis according to acute and chronic.
Symptoms of allergic or acute bronchitis:
- Chest discomfort or discomfort in the chest.
- Mucus-causing cough – Mucus may be clear or pale-green.

The patient feels breathing problem when there is a problem of bronchitis. There are many such medicines which are present in the house or can be made at home. With their help you can get rid of this problem without any side effects.
Ginger
The problem of bronchitis is more in winter. In this case, consuming ginger in winter can be beneficial for you. This also strengthens the immune system. In addition, it contains anti-inflammatory elements that reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract.
Garlic
It is rich in antibiotics and antiviral elements. Consuming garlic is very beneficial for the treatment of bronchitis. Eat three buds of garlic every day or cut them into small pieces and boil them in milk and drink it at night before bedtime.
Turmeric
Turmeric is rich in anti-inflammatory elements which relieves phlegm problems. The main cause of bronchitis is phlegm problems. In this case, add a pinch of turmeric to a glass of milk and boil it, then take it on an empty stomach with a spoonful of ghee two or three times a day. By adopting this remedy every day, the problem of bronchitis will be eradicated gradually.
Eucalyptus oil
Steam therapy proves to be quite beneficial in bronchitis. Adding a little eucalyptus oil to it while taking steam reduces the phlegm problem, which makes it easier to breathe and makes you feel better. Boil water in a vessel, add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to it and take steam.
Salt water
Gargling with salt water several times a day will reduce the symptoms of bronchitis. Do not add too much salt in water, this may cause throat irritation. Along with this, relief of swelling in the throat will also relieve phlegm problems.
Honey
Honey has a natural power to eliminate phlegm. The antiviral and antibacterial elements present in it also cure phlegm with inflammation and soreness in the throat. Regular intake of honey strengthens the immune system, thereby avoiding problems such as bronchitis.
Onion
Onion consumption is beneficial in bronchitis, a disease caused by mucus and phlegm. Taking onion juice on an empty stomach every morning also does not cause bronchitis. Apart from this, you can also eat raw onion or vegetable.
Vitamin C
Bronchitis can be the problem due to lack of essential vitamins and minerals in the body. In such a situation, it is very important to take vitamin C, because it strengthens the immune system. You can take lemonade or orange juice if you want. Due to this, the body gets sufficient amount of vitamin C.
Sesame
Consumption of sesame in winter prevents the problem of bronchitis. It is rich in antioxidants which prevents problems such as cough and phlegm occurring in winter. If you want, you can eat sesame and jaggery ladoo. It keeps your body warm.
Water
For the relief of colds and phlegm, more and more liquid should be taken. In this case, the use of hot water, soup etc. helps loosen phlegm. At the same time do not consume caffeine and alcohol as they contain more urine and less body fluids.

Broncho care syrup is used to eliminate chronic cough, bronchitis, common cold, whooping cough, etc. This ayurvedic syrup contains Vasa patra (Adhatoda vasica), Kantkari (Solanum surattense), Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Bharangi (Clerodendrum serratum), Chitrakmool (Plumbago zeylanica), Sonth (Zingiber officinale), Pippali(Piper longum), Lasoda (Cordia dichotoma), Pudina (Mentha spicata), etc. These ingredients show antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, bronchodilator properties.
Recommended Dosage – Take 2 teaspoonful twice a day.
2. Cough Go Tablets:
Cough Go tablets are ayurvedic formulation containing ingredients like Sonth (Zingiber officinale), Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Pippali (Piper longum), Kali mirch (Piper nigrum), etc. These tablets are very effective in bronchitis, cough, cold, nasal problems, and other respiratory problems.

Amrit Tulsi Ras is a pure herbal preparation containing five types of Tulsi extracts Ocimum sanctum, Ocimum gratissium, Ocimum canum, Ocimum basilicum, Ocimum citriodorum.
