Frozen Shoulder – Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis & Ayurvedic Treatment

To add up your information, frozen shoulder is also known as Adhesive Capsulitis. Frozen shoulder affects the shoulder joint. Pain and stiffness in the shoulder are the main signs of frozen shoulder. The effect may get worse and even last up to years!

Health Benefits of Ayurveda

You feel low on energy; you start eating food. You get pimples; you start applying some cream or lotion. Your blood pressure rises; you start taking medicines. But do you ever wonder why are these problems originating, in the first place? Instead of taking medicines or doing curative healthcare, the better way is to understand the cause of the disease and try to cure the problem from within. That’s why Ayurveda is considered the best form of medicine and health especially for those who believe in healing naturally and from within.

So, How can we define Ayurveda and what makes it a better science than other forms?

Ayur means your life force or vital energy and Veda means science. So, it is sort of a life science based on ancient Vedic knowledge that is going global as we speak. Ayurveda is the study of what makes us alive and shares pretty much the same goals as yoga does. Good health, longevity and spiritual and physical enlightenment are at the centre of both of them.

The fact that Ayurveda is a holistic science that takes into consideration the complete view of human body, mind and behaviour makes its treatments 360 degree effective. In ayurveda, no disease is seen in isolation. Rather, it all begins with Nadi Parikshan and Body/Nature Analysis of a person. This understanding helps the Ayurvedic practitioner to understand what’s going right or wrong within your system.

To elaborate on the same, as per Ayurveda, we all suffer from some kind of deficiencies or doshas. These doshas are innate and affect individuals based on their body types. So whatever diseases or problems a person is experiencing, all that is being caused by imbalance in the three doshas, which are ways of categorizing the body’s three basic energy types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Yes, everyone has a one of these 3 body types which is more or less affected by the 3 primary doshas and they are:

1. Vata

This dosha is formed when your life force or prana mixes with the elements of the air and space. Vata symbolizes and governs all movement and it is light, dry, quick, cold and airy by nature. You might notice that vata people are either very tall or little and have asymmetrical features. They are usually creative and easily adaptable when in balance and when out of it, it leads to fear and anxiety.

2. Pitta

Talk about heat, the Pitta person is made up of all of it. They possess the elements fire and water. Pitta symbolizes and governs digestion, nutrition, your metabolism and body temperature. Pitta is associated with qualities such as hot, sour, pungent, sharp and/or acidic. These people usually have strong digestion and their build is athletic, and when they are in balance, they are intelligent and sharp. They may get hot and easily angered when out of balance.

3. Kapha

These are the people characterized by the mucus body. They are made up of the elements earth and water. Our bones, muscles, teeth and all dense parts of our body are associated with the Kapha. These people are slow and steady, heavy, cold and oily. They are usually loving, nurturing and grounded in nature when in balance and when out of it, they become needy, and melancholy.

After understanding the doshas, an expert Ayurvedic practitioner would suggest you a balanced nutritious diet which will suit your body type and will not aggravate the dosha along with much needed lifestyle changes.

Panchakarma treatments also prove very effective to restore the body balance when a person is detected with some dosha.

What is Panchakarma and How Does it Help You Get Rid of the Doshas?
